In de film ‘O brother where art thou’ zit een scene waar de hoofdrolspelers in de rivier worden gedoopt. Dat fragment leidde tot het lied Devils Demons waar een geesteszieke moordenaar om vergiffenis vraagt en de zonden door de rivier van zich af laat spoelen. Tijdens de zoektocht naar woorden over de inhoud van het rechtssysteem in de Verenigde Staten bleek dat het ontoerekeningsvatbaar verklaren van een verdachte minder gebruikelijk en moeilijker te bewijzen is.
