Mary-Ann
Tekst:
July is at the door, she has been crying
After all the cheating and the lying
She don't know what went wrong
Thought her love was strong
Now she stopped trying
John sits in the car around the corner
From the house where he can live no longer
If only he could find
the right words to speak his mind
He might have told her
There goes Mary-Ann, suitcase in her hand
Running from the doorsteps, far too young to understand
There goes mary-Ann, as fast as she can
Running from the sidewalk, reach for daddy's hands
There goes Mary-Ann
John is baking pancakes for his daughter
She is playing with the dolls he bought her
If only he could bet hat little family
To support her
There goes Mary-Ann, suitcase in her hand
Running from the doorsteps, far too young to understand
There goes mary-Ann, as fast as she can
Running from the sidewalk, reach for daddy's hands
There goes Mary-Ann
How will she know, when she is all grown up
Will she give him love, I hope that she can Mary-Ann
Mary-Ann is waiting at the station
Knowing he will meet her expectation
She cries when their eyes meet, but she knows that he don’t need
No explanation
There goes Mary-Ann, suitcase in her hand
Running from the doorsteps, far too young to understand
There goes mary-Ann, as fast as she can
Running from the sidewalk, reach for daddy's hands
There goes Mary-Ann
